Research: Monochrome still life

The exercise on a monochrome still life left me wondering on approach. As I often do, therefore, I decided to have a look what inspiration was available on Google. The following are some of the more interesting examples I found.

There seems to be a range of ways to treat “Monochrome,” from literally the single colour the name implies to picking a set of analogous colours. Sticking to a single colour means variation in light/dark and colour density provides the material for building the image. All this has given me quite a bit to think of in building a monochrome composition.
